BELTURBET RAILWAY STATION
Belturbet Railway Station was the Northern Terminus for the famed Cavan - Leitrim Narrow Gauge Railway Line which served Belturbet, Ballyconnell, Ballinamore, Dromod and Arigna. Belturbet was the only station on the Great Northern Railway System to be built entirely of cut-stone. Most of the building is still standing.
THE KINGS CARRIAGE
ROYAL CARRIAGE: Manufactured in 1891 and withdrawn from service around 1960, this six wheel directors coach or Royal Carriage was actually used by the Great Southern & Western Railway to transport King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra in 1903.
Before that it in 1897, it had also been used to transport King George V and his wife from Limerick to Killaloe (who were then, the Duke and Duchess of York.)
It had luxury seating in the viewing deck at the front & to the back of the carriage it had its own washroom & WC.
